"The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does..." Isaiah 8:11 (NLT)
What a curious word the prophet heard from God. It's the same word we should pay heed to today. Consider for a moment that God's desire for His children at this time was that they would devote their hearts fully to Him. That they would trust Him to deliver them from the enemy surrounding them, but the general consensus thought their adversary was too difficult, and they gave him (the enemy) more credit than he should have gotten.
There is a prevailing feeling out there that says abortion is ok because it's a womans choice, white lies are ok because they don't "hurt" anyone, and fidelity is only as good as your options. These thoughts totally run counter to what God desires for His children, and yet there are many out there who pay them alot of attention.
My only exhortation would be to think differently. God does. He says in Isaiah 55:8-9 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are high above the earth so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts." Let us not be influenced by our feelings, but by the Spirit within who is calling us to think higher!
